Meridian Capital Launches $2bn Emerging Markets Debt Fund

Meridian Capital today announced the launch of the Meridian Emerging Markets Debt Opportunities Fund, targeting $2 billion in commitments from institutional investors globally.

The fund will invest in sovereign and quasi-sovereign debt, corporate credit, and local currency bonds across Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa, and South-East Asia, with a focus on markets where Meridian has established local research capabilities.

The fund is managed by Meridian's 25-strong emerging markets fixed income team, led by veteran portfolio manager Isabela Ferreira, who joined the firm from JPMorgan Asset Management in 2022.
